Is your marriage fearfully and wonderfully unique? There is an unhealthy idea floating around the church that the ideal couple should be a certain way. Many of us, including me and my wife, were made to feel like we couldn't be used by God because we didn't fit the mold. Today I want to dispel that lie and challenge you to find your uniqueness and purpose for your marriage.
Psalm 139:14 says that we are each fearfully and wonderfully made by God. Each of us has different strengths, weaknesses, gifts and abilities. When you take those two completely unique individuals and put them together as one flesh as we see in Genesis 2:28, you become an amazing and very special couple. God allowed your hurts, you victories and all the things that make you who you are in order to become the married couple He wanted you to be.
Here is the challenge: put Christ in the center of your life and marriage while you embrace your uniqueness. Then, find your special purpose. You have a design. Don't spend your life squashing it, but engage it and and develop it.
If each unique couple in the church finds their purpose, we will begin to change our families, our communities and the world. Be the you God created!
