In 1996, Richard Carlson wrote a book titled, "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff." I didn't get it back then but today I am beginning to see that in light of God's Word everything is small stuff. Matthew 6:25 tells us not to worry. Philippians 4:6 also tells us not to be anxious about anything. And don't forget the words of Bobby McFerrin, "Don't worry be happy."
Think about the things that upset you. A car pulling out in front of you? Maybe someone said something you didn't agree with? You receive a bill that's a little higher than you expected. In the realm of things is it really that important? Take a minute to consider all the blessings in your life. You have a roof over your head, transportation, a job and plenty of food. Your children are in good health. You are free to do almost anything you want to do. Most people in the world and many right here in the states can't say that.
Ultimately, if you have accepted Jesus a Christ as your savior you are going to a place called heaven one day. With that as the end for us why be mad when everything doesn't go exactly as we desire or expect. Try counting your blessing and being thankful instead of angry. Forgive someone who doesn't deserve it today! Tomorrow will look a whole lot brighter.
